toxic by proxy

"not my fault, it's yours"

showing your moxy

telling lies, keeping score

using whatever

to be sure that you win

although you swore, never

here we go again

you set up the scene

keeping more than your hands clean

your story-telling's, pristine

albeit - creative, it's mean

you've collected your sheeple

sold them your point of view

crawled through the eye of a needle

to prove your side is true

no matter the outcome

you pit side against side

bat your eyes, playing dumb

all to salvage your pride

truth never held any power

truth - really, what does it mean?

you're the star, every hour

fueled by your "my friends" machine

I wonder, if they knew what I know

or if you only feed them your lines

would your cover then, be blown

exposing you and your lies

would they still be there cheering

defending all that you do

or would they start disappearing

if they could really see you
