Too Good

A Poem

You don't push to get your way,

You're comfortable, confident,

and honest.

You're fun and kind,

you don't pretend.

You're a dream come true.

Too good to be true.

My mind says,

Take it slow,

But my heart's already fallen.

I see two flaws,

both of which,

wouldn't be impossible to overcome.

You're a dream come true.

Too good to be true.

If you'd only ask, I'm already yours,

I'm not putting you on a pedestal,

I'm seeing you for the first time,

Apart from the crowd.

Found when not looking.

Fallen before thinking.

I need to adjust,

to believe you're for real

A dream come true

Too good to be true.

A friend by my side

with a smile,

ready to run, to dance.

To drink,

To fight,

Or cuddle in bed on a lazy Sunday.

I haven't woken since I fell,

but I'm happy to keep living in this dream for now.

You're a dream come true.

Too good to be true.
