Tom & Holly

A Christmas Romance

By Luke HowePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Out in the park on Chr istmas Eve,

Tom has something up his sleeve.

Sipping on something cool and pleasant ,

he’s waiting for Holly, to give her a present .

He spots her skating across the rink,

So he sidles over

“Can I buy you a drink?”

She laughs out loud with yuletide cheer

and accepts his offer of a festive beer .

Off to the bar, quick as a flash

out comes his wallet, out comes his cash.

He smiles at the barman, dressed as an elf.

“Two beers please and one for your self”

The drinks are poured and quickly they’re gone.

Holly’s foot taps to her favourite song.

There it is, the perfect chance.

Shyly he asks “Would you like to dance?”

First they skate to something slow

and he guides her over to the mistletoe.

An opportunity he’d be silly to miss,

He leans in quick to give her a kiss.

She grins as the DJ changes the track,

puts her arms round his waist and kisses him back.

Tom shouts out loud so all can hear

“Look at the cracker I pulled this year !
