to the moon and back

remember?

By Daniel KPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I tried to grab the moon tonight

it looked within reach

taunting me with its bright assurances,

but I thought if

I flipped my hands upside down

and held it in the sky,

for once, I wouldn't feel so powerless,

it was a noble thought

to assist against gravity

but it only proved

that actions outweigh thoughts

and intentions are hard to see

and that made me sad

and I thought of you

and with my fingers,

I counted the

thousands of miles

between us,

if I would've known

that I'd never touch you again

I would have become

an astronaut

About the Creator

Daniel K

I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.
