To Kill The Priest

She baked the cakes, each layer thick,

A recipe twisted, with a cruel trick.

The priest would come, he’d never know,

A taste of vengeance in each row.

She smiled as the oven warmed,

Old scores in silence had her formed.

Each Cake mixed with care and spite,

The final bite, his last delight.

He came for tea, the old man prayed,

Unaware of the plot she laid.

She served him sweets, so rich and bold,

As memories of wrongs grew cold.

One bite, and then another went,

He didn’t see the final end.

The old lady’s grudge, with sugar sealed,

His fate was served, the truth revealed.

She cleared the plates, no word was said,

The priest was still, his face gone red.

And with a grin, she cleaned the floor,

Her score was settled, forevermore.

Her reason for killing a respectful man was

He refused to marry her and Jim, her boyfriend,

50 years ago when she was in love with Jim.

so till Jim died they lived in sin.

Granny I’ll now, she never forgot.

The poison cake consumed while the tea was hot.

She only had three months to live her life,

The priest paid the debt of revenge with his life.
