Time
The God Within; poems by: Keith McHugh
Taking us through everyday,
Ticking in its usual way,
Never speeds up or slows down,
Yet sometimes, there's more around,
And others, not enough,
So finding it seems tough.
Though its schedule is strange,
It will never change.
We find a way to keep the pace,
At times it feels life its a race.
One that can never be won,
Time rises and sets with the sun.
It can be your enemy or friend,
Regardless its there at the end.
Carrying on as we pass,
Continuing on to guide the mass.
Of all people, young and old,
Forming and fitting them to its mold.
An idea which was so complete,
The truth will knock you off your feet.
Just something keeping us on track,
The time that passes we never get back.
The future, is all its aiming for,
Our past, just another door,
Closing behind us,
Leaving only memories to remind us.
what if time was never even there,
Would we be aware,
Or even care.
How each moment you share,
Should be inviting,
Not something to be fighting
