Just like that she let go.
Every anxious thought laid low.
Self loathing and doubt,
The baggage she carried about,
She released her claim.

She let the sunrise dance on her face,
Existing only for this moment and place,
Feeling the salt, sea spray,
Breathing deeply of a new day,
She focused on now.
***
Now, she felt fully alive,
Strong, courageous, not trying to survive.
Here she felt light, safe, grounded.
Not hurried, pressured and hounded,
Cool sand between her toes.
***
She began to laugh, to shout, to run,
Spread out her arms into the rays of the sun.
Ideas, possibilities, another chance?
No longer felt like another’s dance.
It was her time to shine.
