River
Highway
Flash
Slow burn
Slow march
Sprint
Time, never slowing, ever flowing
Never coming back around
Not increasing just decreasing
Never to be found
Capture
Release
Enjoy
Lament
Redeem
Waste
It be gone it be gone forever more
Time worn traveler bound to hospital bed
Ninty years and counting her baby girl dead
Morphine now running through her veins
To alleviate her struggling
To ease her pain
Nourisnment she no longer desires
Every movement every breath makes her tired
Her race of time is almost run
Her final battle almost is run
She close her eyes and thinks of a little girl
With baby blue eyes and beautiful blond curls
The girl she brought into this world.
Now she is gone now no more
She is making plans for a reunion day
When she will be with her baby things be ok
She thinks of the words, ” I will make all things new”
She read in a bible in Baptist church pew
She draws one last breath and lets it out
No more fear, no more doubt
The light of love fills the room
Dazzzling beams of splendor chase away the gloom
Then just like that her soul is gone
Gone to her eternal, ethereal home
Time
Ending
Ceasing
Gone forever more
Exit Time
New beginning
Never-ending
Home forever more.
