Time 2 Sleep

I close my eyes to hunt for my sleep

This prey is elusive and the climb there is steep

I’m about to lose hope and reach for my light

When my maiden appears and captures my night

She takes my hand and leads me away

We head for the shore where we can both play

The waves play their song with a melodic beat

So, we dance to the rhythm and smile with our feet

~

But a knight’s dream lasts only so long

to go back to myself I had to be strong

I awoke from this dream and was smiling out loud

I swear last night we danced on a cloud

~

Was she there, this girl of my dreams?

I don’t really know, but I know how it seems

I thought it a dream that was had by this fellow

But then catch a whiff of her smell on my pillow!
