Till Death Us Do Part

Your name still trembles softly on my tongue,

Like morning rain that lingers after storms,

A sacred vow no silence can outrun,

A fire that keeps my weary spirit warm.

I loved you long before the stars could speak,

Before the moon could pull upon the tide,

Through every shattered hour I turned weak,

Your soul remained the shelter by my side.

If death should stand between our beating hearts,

I’d cross the dark to find your hand once more,

No grave could tear this endless love apart,

No heaven close its everlasting door.

I hear your voice inside the midnight air,

It calls my aching spirit back to life,

A sound so pure no sorrow could compare,

The sweetest truth within this world of strife.

I’d walk through every season wrapped in pain,

Just for the blessing of your gentle touch,

Through loss and scars and endless pouring rain,

My heart would still confess it loves too much.

You are the prayer my lonely soul became,

The steady light inside my darkest years,

No passing time could ever dim your flame,

You kissed away the bitterness of tears.

And when my final breath escapes my chest,

I’ll whisper softly only of your name,

For loving you has been my greatest rest,

My deepest wound, my everlasting flame.

Till death us do part was never enough,

Not for a bond the heavens could not sever,

For even death could never end this love,

My heart is yours beyond this life forever.
