Tidal Wave of Grief

Salt in the wound

My overwhelmed, fragile, aching heart

Shall undoubtedly be deluged,

It’s beating life giving pulse drowned…

Stilled, lost to a watery grave with…

Sea Salt poured in my open, bleeding wounds

My mind Sautéed in brine, rancid seaweed

As your betrayal builds up…

A monsoon… a tidal wave

Rolling, crashing, rising

It’s frothy tips soaring ever higher

Rushing in to demolish

All … Everything before it…

The sea wall of my fortitude

Stands not a chance

Of withstanding the deluge

The oceanic onslaught

That is your latest reveal

How could you?

After all we have been through…

All we have meant to each other..

You would choose now to tell me this?

Oh, the horror…

Of knowing my soul mate

Is at heart a cat lover….

….

Come on Rover, we need to take a walk.
