Thunderstorm
Sometimes they come out of nowhere

You stare up at the sky
and admire the perfect sunny day
when out of the shining blue
comes total black.
Like a switch has been flipped,
roiling, angry storm clouds tumble forth
too fast, too unforeseen
for you to find shelter.
You tremble,
seeking patches of sunlight hope
battling to shine amidst so much shadow
the sky just doesn't know how to feel.
But she's trying to be brave.
As soft pale rays begin to peek through,
as you sigh your relief,
the floodgates open
and the Storm has won
