To reach for what you never looked for but suddenly cannot find

Like a piece of heart missing and you think you’ve lost your mind

A taste for time or the smell of life

The feeling that you are forgetting it twice

And just when you cave to the day of the present

Is when you open the correct cabinet

And you see the past in your spice collection

You remember the smells of running through kitchens

You sit on the floor because somehow the cold tiles

Feel like a place you could stay a while

And suddenly comfort is not for what it stands

But a place where you may rest your heaviness

Thinking of torture as coffee drips

Feeling the sense of a long, strange trip

The luminous lights glow like bugs in the night

The dark of a hallway to offer a fright

The changing of sky as it moves into morning

The heart being full from its sense of belonging

A moment of peace met with tears turned to laughter

And finding the plate that your hunger was after

Feeling like you can finally sleep

Putting more to rest than dreams

About the Creator

Lolly Paige Lennox

I am known for my gifts in Tarot and the dead, the Dead, being grateful and psychedelic and a little strange in the head. Sort of a beatnik, like a harlot, or a bard, and a sorcerer. Definitely a nerd.

Not a professional - Probably an expert
