Those That Mock The Sick
Lonzo’s Halloween Poetry challenge that I wrote during a meeting with some of my friends from a local writing group. 97 words.
🎃
Witches gather here
singing ballads for pumpkins
in ghastly forests
🎃
Munchkins trick or treat
candy corpses they’ll consume
blood syrup lip-balm
🎃
Mortals rejoice death
no gargoyle tears, dance instead
cackling at costumes
🎃
Those that mock the sick
beware when the full moon strikes
the role will be yours
🎃
The terror you bring
will return to swallow you
then plant you in earth
🎃
Dream of pumpkins
throats slit, insides carves for art
candles replaced hearts
🎃
The pumpkin carvings
left to rot till November
remains Christmas frost
🎃
The steam in lattes
seep through cinnamon froth
those are ancient ghosts
🎃
