Those Autumn leaves

Mike's September $ prompt

By Antoni De'LeonPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Best friends forever, we pledged

As we walked amongst the Autumn leaves

I Remember, when you gave me that great big, giant

Teddy Bear, it sure felt wonderful snuggling in the warmth

When Teddy and I cuddled so I could

easily fall asleep

But that was then, when we were young, and innocence

sang between the leaves of autumn trees

But now we have grown, the trees seem smaller

September dawns in rainbow shades of sapphire

Pink, rose, violet, yellow, orange, green and white

Teddy is tattered and torn, asleep in the attic of my old home

I still visit with him, whenever I go for a visit

The forget-me-not, morning glory, and the aster

Still bloom bright in summer months in the front garden

of my childhood home

Then September comes around again

And you, my best friend, still here by my side

holding my hands

As we stroll beneath the lovely autumn trees

Oh, how I love

Those autumn leaves!
