I met you when I was young

You were fairly young too

Something in your eyes spoke to me

I’d never seen that shade of blue

We found love instantly. Almost

Like in the blink of an eye

I still think about you being in my life

We were birds on a branch

Singing in the wind

I’ve now come to terms

I’ll never see you again

You’ve gone your separate ways

I guess I have too

That doesn’t stop me from thinking of you.
