Touch – touch what?
The table, the folding table?
The sheet
The towels
The over whelming anxiety.
I can See –
The never ending piles of
Dirty, yet to clean pile of laundry.
Piles of clean, yet to fold linens.
The spinning linens
Timers faster than I can moves
(distracted)—
Hear –
Nothing, but whirring and tumbling.
Inner thoughts, not so muffled.
My music, mostly, just some emotional rock.
Beeping, signaling completing, of cycles
Taste – Cold water?
Smell – the
Cleaner
Dirty linens
(smokey, perfumy)
Clean
(detergent)
Hopefully, not smoke from lint
Or my burn out.

Standing Still
There are very few moments in life where time truly stands still. When your breath is taken from your chest and your body hangs weightless in that moment. Just long enough for it to stay with you from that day onwards. Deep in the red sands of the Australian Outback, I found that moment and clung to it forever.
