They Were Right

About Everything

Growing up, I never wanted my parents to know they were right,

I fought tooth and nail about it,

Just to prove them wrong.

Now I look back , God I wish I listened to them.

I know now they were looking out for me.

My parents sat up all hours waiting for me to come home,

The advice they gave me,

Was for my own safety.

But I truly was a Bitch to my parents,

Growing up, I was the worst,

I know now and see all I put you through,

I am so sorry and you were right,

All your advice was true,

Always watch your back,

Be careful who you trust in life,

Among those you don't really know,

Sit and listen to what is being told,

Always carry something for protection,

Extra money so you can get home safe,

And you told me,

"Please be careful and I hope you listen"
