They Saw All

A Poem

By Rowan Finley Published 7 years ago 1 min read

They saw all

The blinds to the windows of their souls were always up

They saw when we went and when we stayed

Some days we walked around slightly afraid

They saw all

Around they roamed and went about their day

They saw everything we did or didn't do

Many days we were filled with rue

They saw all

It was kind of like prison and home all in the same

Held back from knowing freedom and space

They oftentimes showed little grace

They saw all

Was it paranoia or just some kind of fear

This was really no way to live abundantly

They knew more than they should redundantly

They saw all
