They grow up so fast

November rain (Mother Combs, unofficial 6W6L poem).

November rain brings Longings of nostalgic

Broodings which tug hard at heartstrings

Echoes which resound in yesteryears laughter.

Stillness! How the years have flown

Can you hear the children singing

Their sweet lingering voices echo...evermore!

.......................................

It's just me now standing here

The kids are grown, puddles forsaken

My boots remember frolicking and laughter

We miss their happy upturned faces

Splashing, dashing, racing with wild abandon

Puddle and me, lost in reverie!

.....................................................

Windblown. Still. The puddles sit forlorn

Lonesome, they remember when children played

Jumped, laughed, frolicked, sent splashes flying

In wild abandon, happiness infectious. They

Grew up, forgetting puddle and me!

Alone, we skipped, splashed, puddle smiles!

I adore this, Novel, your diction is delicious here. "Puddle smiles," my favorite.

This hits hard and wonderfully. I am getting up in age yet still hold on to my youth.
