In the midsts of healing

there you were

Pretending to conquer alone

eluding in intimidation

there you were

with every gaze

a childlike blush rose

another sip

stroking the glass of distraction

there you were

the kindest eyes I ever saw

the sneaking suspicion of regret

if I continued to pretend to conquer alone

vulnerable

there you were

the purest form of knowing

how even in the stages of my healing body

the courage you gave me

the earnest to keep you in my life

there you were

my better half

fiercely alive

from the night we met

there you were
