The World Without Them

Cold silent empty ?

The World Without Them

I learned to leave,

what never stayed,

what never knew

my real heart.

I held the truth,

longer than needed,

hoping for shape,

in empty hands.

Then silence came,

cold and clean,

telling me more

than they ever did.

The rose fell dry,

colour fading slow,

showing the end

I never wanted.

So I walked on,

one quiet step,

finding myself

in the quiet.

And now I know,

my spirit lifts,

when I close doors

that led nowhere.
