The World Goes On

Here in the garden

where no one stands behind me

I search for my sun

through the dance of the lightning.

Here in the dark

where no one comes to find me

my bare feet carve

my path to set me free.

Here in the mountains

where God has come to find me

I'm screaming at Him

so I'm sure He can hear me.

I have come all this way

and my world has stopped turning,

yet the pine is now sparkling

with snow

A dedication to my beautiful nephew Finnley who passed at the age of 4 from cerebral palsy complications. The world did not stop turning, even though it feels like it to all who loved you immensely, and we'll never understand why you were taken so soon. We miss you and love you so very much, our little angel. You endured so much in your short life; may your free spirit enjoy the wholeness, rest, and love of eternity.
