The World After

The world after is not so different From the world before The sun still rises and sets The birds still sing and soar

But something has changed inside me A subtle shift of perspective A new awareness of my place In this vast and complex collective

I used to think I was alone A speck of dust in the cosmos But now I see I’m connected To everything that grows and glows

I used to think I was powerless A victim of circumstance But now I see I have a choice To create and to enhance

I used to think I was insignificant A drop in the ocean of life But now I see I’m essential A source of love and light

The world after is not so different From the world before But I am different, and that makes all the difference As I explore and adore

Received message. Here is a poem I wrote based on the prompt: The World After The world after is not so different From the world before The sun still rises and sets The birds still sing and soar But something has changed inside me A subtle shift of perspective A new awareness of my place In this vast and complex collective I used to think I was alone A speck of dust in the cosmos But now I see I'm connected To everything that grows and glows I used to think I was powerless A victim of circumstance But now I see I have a choice To create and to enhance I used to think I was insignificant A drop in the ocean of life But now I see I'm essential A source of love and light The world after is not so different From the world before But I am different, and that makes all the difference As I explore and adore
