The Window That Cried
It drew me in where I did not want to go

The Window That Cried
Rain tapped like tiny bones,
Across the broken glass I stared,
Inside the room, voices lingered,
I did not know if they called me.
Shadows stretched with grace,
A door opened without hands,
I felt the gaze of something lost,
It waited where I feared to go.
I leaned closer,
The glass shivered under breath,
It drew me in,
And spat me out.
The street whispered my name,
The houses held their secrets,
I shivered and turned away,
The night laughed behind my back.
A cold wind carried old echoes,
I felt unseen hands brush mine,
The rain soaked my thoughts,
And left me numb with questions.
I fled past empty doors,
The windows blinked as I passed,
Something watched without eyes,
And I could not look back.
