THE WHEEL OF LOVE
I wonder why it never turned for me !

THE WHEEL OF LOVE
The wheel of love goes round and round,
Hearts and flowers, colours are found,
Some are bright and some are blue,
Some remind me still of you.
Round it goes through every year,
Carrying laughter, carrying tears,
Never stopping, never still,
Turning because I know it will.
Red is the heart that loved too much,
Blue is the flower that missed your touch,
Purple remembers a yesterday,
Yellow brings sunshine back my way.
There are flowers for those who stayed,
And little hearts for love that strayed,
There are colours for things gone wrong,
Yet somehow the wheel keeps rolling on.
Love isn’t always painted red,
Sometimes it’s words we should have said,
Sometimes it’s black around the side,
Where all our broken feelings hide.
But look at the flowers growing there,
Little reminders that somebody cared,
Growing between every crooked line,
Some of them yours and some of them mine.
The wheel of love doesn’t ask us why,
One day we laugh, the next we cry,
It takes every colour we ever knew,
And mixes the old ones in with the new.
So I painted hearts, I painted flowers,
I painted minutes, years and hours,
Perhaps it’s messy, perhaps it’s strange,
But love itself will always change.
And if this wheel should come your way,
Don’t try to stop it, let it stay,
Find your colour, find your heart,
And choose the flower that’s your part.
For the wheel of love goes round and round,
With all of life’s strange colours found,
And every turn that carries me through,
Leaves one little flower
Especially for you.
