The Weight They Never Saw

You don’t know the real me

The Weight They Never Saw

You called me quiet

as though silence meant less,

never seeing what survived

behind my ordinary days.

Some things stay unspoken,

not because they hold no weight,

only because carrying them

became part of living.

I learned to keep moving,

without asking to be seen,

without turning every ache

into something understood.

Strength arrived quietly,

without praise or attention,

without the shape people expect

when they speak of surviving.

There were days I stood still,

while everything felt uncertain,

yet somehow I remained

and continued forward.

You noticed the smile,

the polite conversation,

the version that appeared

easy to stand beside.

You never saw the effort,

the rebuilding in silence,

the way I kept going

when nobody looked twice.

I stopped explaining myself,

stopped chasing understanding,

stopped measuring my worth

through another voice.

Softness stayed with me,

though it changed shape,

becoming wiser with time

and slower to trust.

I watched people leave,

watched moments disappear,

watched life rearrange itself

without asking permission.

Still I remained here,

not unchanged by experience,

only stronger than expected

and quieter about it.

There are victories unseen,

moments nobody applauds,

yet they still matter

all the same.

So if today asks

what became of me,

tell it I stayed standing

and became my own proof.

Not louder than before,

not harder than before,

only more certain

I never needed permission.
