the weight of her gaze

loving what you see

By Alivia VarvelPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read
Norman Rockwell - Girl at the Mirror (1954)

her face is bare these days,

hair stick straight.

dark strands now shimmer

as light catches scattered silver.

on tiptoes with arms stretched up,

she releases a cacophony of snap, crackle, pop.

she looks at me.

i smile.

she smiles back.

we turn from each other

to face the day.
