The Weight of an Unsent Letter
Sometimes the heaviest things we carry are the words we never send.

I found your name in the quiet rain,
A soft reminder, sharp with pain,
The ink had blurred, yet still it stayed,
Like truths too heavy to be displayed.
I wrote you once, in sleepless streams,
Each line a fragment from my dreams,
But fear held tight, and I obeyed,
A silence even love betrayed.
The paper knew my trembling hand,
It felt the weight I couldn’t stand,
Every word a fragile thread,
Between the living and the dead.
I thought of stamps, and then the cost,
Of bridges built, and those long lost,
I sealed the page but kept it near,
A ghost of all I couldn't clear.
And so it waits, inside a drawer,
The letter meant to be much more,
A truth unmailed, yet still it burns,
For some goodbyes are slow returns.
Thank you so much for reading. 💜💜💜
