I did not see it start to grow,

Not in the way I thought I’d know,

It came in fragments, slow and small,

Until it became everything, all.

You learned the way I breathe and think,

The way I stand right on the brink,

Of overthinking every line,

And somehow made it feel just fine.

You did not try to change my shape,

Or find a way for me escape,

You simply met me where I stood,

And somehow made it feel so good.

The days with you no longer felt,

Like something I could barely melt,

But something steady, something near,

That made the future less severe.

And over time you filled the space,

Not like a storm, but like a grace,

Not rushing in, not taking more,

But gently opening every door.

Now when I think of who I am,

It is not lost in shifting sand,

Because you gave me something true,

A life that somehow leads to you.

And even if the world turns wide,

I know you will be by my side,

Not as a moment passing through,

But as the life I walk into.
