He watches over his city
High above on the rooftops
Protecting it from the supernatural
Watching out for dark witchcraft
He sits on his ledge
Never once seeming to move
Guarding against evil voodoo
All under the unanimous disguise
Of an inanimate creature made of stone
Never once get appreciation
Never once being honored
For heroic deeds he does
For the protection he gives to the city

I love the moodiness of this poem, it felt like an opening set of lines before an epic tale!
That's how you end up with a heart of stone.
Awww, I feel so sad for him. I wanna give him a hug and say thank you 🥺❤️
Reminds me of a cartoon I watched when I was a kid. I think it was called Gargoyles. Great piece, M.C.
This invokes empathy for the gargoyle very nicely. Well done, Sharon!
Love the image and your compelling and intriguing words. Feels like something old-world! Well done, Sharon!
