a second chance
the second glance
a failed attempt
at true romance
the broken glass
the fumbled pass
to accept, alas
that love won't last
the broken heart
the last false start
a spoiled tart
in ala cart
that what has passed
is in the past
and takes a pass
to pass again
over and done
a top that's spun
sinking, undone
like the setting sun
it can't be revived
or brought back to life
hey, here's your sign
you're out of time
you can't press rewind
or un dot the i's
can't redesign the final line
so, goodbye is it
and that's all there is
the bait is clicked
and then it's switched
