A Poem for Peace

War, a tragedy so absurd,

A world in chaos, humanity scarred.

Brothers in arms now enemies,

Lives lost, pain, no remedy.

Mothers cry for sons not coming home,

Fathers grieve for futures not shown.

Children grow up in a world of hate,

Their innocence lost, a terrible fate.

Bombs exploding, buildings fall,

Loved ones dying, hearts are filled with gall.

Heroes rise, hope they bring,

But too often, their spirits take wing.

In war, there's nothing to gain,

Only loss, only pain.

Why do we fight, why do we kill,

When all we have is love to fulfill?

Oh war, end this cycle of strife,

Bring peace, bring joy to human life.

Let us embrace each other's hand,

And together, build a better land.
