The Time Will Come

He’ll arrive when it’s destined to be

He rolls with the waves of desire that shadow his life,

Dressed to kill in his blazer and leather shoes,

Iron clad armour guards his heart from betrayal,

Born from the days he lived the blues.

**

His touch is a series of golden hues marked by the stars,

His whisper the rattling of new leaves on a spring day,

When he laughs the world stops spinning for just a second,

Leaving a trail of shocked hearts reeling this way.

**

His reflection lives in the hearts of all he meets,

His blonde locks the envy of every female in sight,

Sizzling in his element without the arrogance,

Never fully understanding he is a glorious delight.

**

Heat radiates from the centre of mass population,

Wishes and dreams follow his shadow in an effort to score,

Heatwaves surround his aura in rainbow delicacies,

And his voice one that tempts a lioness to roar.

**

The twinkle of his eyes cause the female anatomy to stumble,

A hiccup as it takes the breath from painted lips,

His saunter a drumbeat on the feminine heart,

Leaving many a stiletto heel to stutter, then slips.

**

Toes curl at the slightest glimpse of a furled lip,

As it rises into a smile that radiates the sun,

A monobrow of darkness hints at a devastating bad boy,

Hidden behind the precipice of danger and fun.

**

His mirror image dressed in leather and chaps,

A view from behind that melts a woman’s hardened heart,

Legs of strength bowed from the struggles of life,

Causes heartbeats that if measured, would be off the chart.

**

Listen to the words he drawls in the rhythm of love,

I guarantee they’ll leave you speechless wishing for more,

A gorgeous specimen built of raw kindness and adoration,

Will make you forget every man that came before.

**

Hold tight until you find the blessing of your heart,

Experience this once and you’ll never look back,

You’ll soon discover mediocre will no longer sustain,

And all past romances highlighted for all that they lacked.

**

Your soul calls for the one matched long before birth,

As he wanders the earth looking for you,

Open yourself to the possibility of evolution,

Knowing happiness is a clue to all that’ll ensue.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
