The Surface Of Love

In A New Light

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Dew hangs on the wire

Like the barbs that pierce the dawn

Morning stirs the fire

Of a flame that’s come and gone

The sunlight skirts the darkness

Like the shadows on my wall

While whispers of a presence

On the breeze, sings its first song

Poppy's ride the wind

Dressed in the color love creates

They dance and sway and bend

As evening’s magic dissipates

Longing for a kiss

Turning their faces to the sky

Designed to dance this dance

On the edge of morning’s light
