The Storm and the Rainbow

A pot of gold to be found

The Storm and the Rainbow

The sky was torn apart by sound,

Lightning cracked through violet air,

The earth beneath refused to move,

And all at once the storm took form,

A roar of light, a cry of flame,

That split the heavens clean in two.

From shadow’s throat a ribbon rose,

Not gentle, but fierce with might,

Its colours burned, defying rain,

Each shade a vow the storm had sworn,

A bridge between despair and grace,

Unfolding in the bruised night sky.

The tree stood still, its roots held firm,

The field was bright with trembling fear,

For beauty here was sharp as pain,

And thunder bowed to colour’s reign,

The air itself began to hum,

As if creation breathed again.

No peace was found in that great show,

It was a meeting of divine and wild,

Where chaos kissed the edge of calm,

And rage gave birth to sudden bloom,

A wonder born from fractured hearts,

That dared to shine as storms consumed.

I watched, unmoved yet trembling deep,

My spirit caught in that great fight,

For storms within are much the same,

They break, they burn, then bloom anew,

And somewhere in the wreck of pain,

The rainbow finds its way through fire.

So let the heavens split and cry,

Let thunder walk upon the plain,

For every wound the storm may give,

Will spill its light upon the field,

And from the ruin’s fiercest breath,

The colours rise, unbroken, still.
