I have very often wondered why

your hair stands on end when you cry

Could it be my woolly jumper perhaps?

Shedding static up into the sky.

There's an energy crackling between us

A fizz I just cannot endear -

Edging closer I reach for forgiveness

But the water vibrates in your tears.

Are my negative atoms too shocking

My electrical pulses too strong

Is that why you flinch when I touch you?

Are the ions of passion now gone?

I hate all this static between us

Zapping love from our passionate souls

Perhaps we should split up our atoms

Get the buzz back we had for so long.
