That just never seems to go away.

In a world that's ruled by the bill,

We find ourselves in quite a thrill,

For we owe so much,

It's like a constant crutch,

Our wallets are empty, we feel ill.

But debt is a funny old thing,

It's like a bell that loves to ring,

It never goes away,

It just wants to stay,

Forever in our financial bling.

So we pay and we pay and we pay,

And hope that we'll see a new day,

Where debt is a word,

That we've never heard,

And our bank accounts are here to stay.
