The sound of rain at night,

soft whispers on a roof,

a gentle tapping—

like fingers drumming,

calling for dreams to wake.

Drops race down the window,

their laughter splashing,

filling the air with sweet rhythm,

as streetlamps flicker,

casting shadows that dance.

Each plink and plop,

a lullaby for the weary,

washing away the day’s worry,

nestling us deeper,

in blankets of warm silence.

Outside, the world glimmers—

puddles form pools of light,

reflecting the heartbeat

of a sky painted grey,

while crickets keep time,

singing their night song.

In this moment,

the world slows down,

wrapped in a melody

that soothes like a soft sigh,

reminding us that storms pass,

and morning will greet us

with a tender light.
