The Soul That Waited Too Long

He got lost before love hit

The Soul That Waited Too Long

I waited by a silent door,
Hoping you would want me more,
I gave my heart, I gave my all,
But heard no answer when I’d call.

I painted dreams of me and you,
Of skies above and mornings new,
But dreams can hurt when they reveal,
The difference between hope and real.

I wondered what I lacked

you walked away from my side,
But love is not a test to pass,
Or something held inside a glass.

You were a star I wished upon,
A beautiful light before the dawn,
But stars can shine and still be far,
No matter how close they seem they are.

So I will gather every tear,
And leave behind the endless fear,
For someone who cannot see my worth,
Does not decide what I am worth.

My heart will heal, my soul will grow,
New paths will open, new winds will blow,
And one day love will come to me,
The kind that stays and sets me free.

If my words have touched your heart, and you’ve enjoyed my poetry, a small goodwill gesture would be deeply appreciated. Your kindness helps me continue doing what I love. Thank you for reading. 🌹
