The Silent Scream of Forest
Deforestation a Deadly Sin
The Silent Scream of the Forest
In twilight's hush, where shadows play,
A silent scream begins to sway,
The trees, once tall, now fallen lie,
Their whispers lost, their beauty gone to dry.
The axe's bite, a deadly kiss,
Severs life, and takes its bliss,
The forest weeps, a mournful sigh,
As ancient hearts begin to die.
The wind, a mourner, whispers low,
Of memories that will never grow,
The rustling leaves, a funeral dirge,
Echoing the forest's bereaved surge.
Oh, how the trees cry out in pain,
As innocence is lost in vain,
Their wisdom, earned through seasons' toll,
Felled by greed, their stories untold.
The forest's heart, a heavy sigh,
As if the earth itself did cry,
For all the life that's been destroyed,
The beauty lost, the love employed.
Yet still we stand, amidst the pain,
And wonder at the forest's refrain,
A reminder of our power and might,
And the responsibility that takes flight.
Let us not forget the trees' lament,
For in their silence, we are meant
To hear the whispers of our past,
And learn from lessons that will forever last.
Let us preserve the forest's voice,
And heed the call of nature's choice,
For in their ancient hearts, we find
A reflection of our own kind.
