The Shift

I felt as if I was in darkness for most of the days that I have lived

Living in a cruel world alone without kindness, but my own

As the light started to depart from me, you appeared and embraced the good that was left in my heart

The Universe shifted that day when all the dark drifted away

You had your past and I had mine, but future awaits and welcomes us to a new divine

Figuratively, it has only been a few months, but in reality, our love has been here since the beginning of time
