Autumn’s arrival

punctuated by

the wafting spices,

of cinnamon, of pumpkin spice,

of strong teas and comfort.

/

Winter’s feast

fill us to the brim

with turkeys and cookies,

hot choco and marshmallows.

/

Spring awakens

with the return of

birds chirping

singing the dawn

of a new year of growth.

/

Summer’s touch

finally embraces us

under the warmth

of the vibrant sun,

sneakily toying with our hair

with that dash of unpleasant humidity.

/

These are the seasonings

of the seasons,

the spice that keeps

the cycle of each year

vibrant and alive.
