the anxiety of love.

I’ll steal glances whenever I can

Like I’m a professional thief and

I’ve never known any other life.

As easy as stealing nuts at a bulk store.

So easy they multiply in my pockets

and all my jacket pockets fill up

by early fall.

My lungs screaming so loudly for

you they can only pierce up

my lobes

and into my brain

Where only I feel them like an echo

in the chambers of a

train station

And it’s only me looking frantic and

lost

Where your name is the only destination

and the tickets are

One way.
