The Road of Tears
She runs, though shadows pull her back,
A path too long, a sky too black.
The castle looms, cold stone and spire,
Yet something deeper fans the fire.
Behind, the eyes of sorrow weeps,
Their silent watch forever deep.
The distant figures fade and go,
While she moves on—too fast, too slow.
The road is straight, yet twists within,
A tale of loss, a race with sin.
Each step she takes is not her own,
Each breath a ghost, each sigh a stone.
The fields stretch wide, but not for her,
The wind resists, the grasses stir.
The weeping eyes, the aching past,
She cannot run—she is outcast.
Yet still she moves, though fate is grim,
The distant doors grow harsh and dim.
She does not know if home still stands,
Or if she’ll break with empty hands.
The road of tears is paved with pain,
Yet she runs on through loss and rain.
Not for escape, not for release—
just to chase the dream of peace
