The Return

Old Roads, New Eyes

By Marcus HillPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Journey short-lived,

yet the memories refuse to fade.

Home is no longer just walls—

it is laughter shared,

it is company that carries you.

The truth will always surface,

no matter how tightly denial

tries to mask it.

What feels safe in the moment

becomes disappointment in time.

And yet—

there is grace in returning.

Healing in walking old roads

with new eyes.

The past does not bind you,

it teaches.

The return is not the same road—

it bends with what you’ve learned,

it hums with voices that shaped you,

it proves leaving was not failure,

and coming back is not defeat.

It is the circle closing.

The moment you see

that what you chased so far away

was waiting here—

quiet, patient,

home all along.
