The Resting Princess
A poem for Princess Diana
The world watched your awaiting
Every heart to grasp and clasp your sight
In one day you were crowned and
One day you were gone changing the lives
Of every one you knew and everyone you touched
You left not in vain but in the pride of your life
Giving character and grace to your own
And forever emboding a princess to the kingdom
Holding whatever beheld you to fight
Whether for the children of Africa or standing up
For justice for everyone..you never back down
To all who knew you dearly you were and still is
The warrior princess urging us to justice and
To do whatever is right on this earth so we can
All have a lasting legacy as one people with one purpose
To come together and defend the weak against disenfranchisement
May the sleeping princess rest for now and may we carry
Her just cause forever in our hearts and may
Her memory never be wipe away
May those who knew her carry her memory
Graciously until we see her again.
