the rain is coming
no end in sight

your voice wakes me,
once again,
my dreams betray me,
romantic delusions reveal
my quiet inability
to e s c a p e from you
my thoughts
spin
like fan blades
i loved you so much, i did,
i loved you.
i
still
love
you,
but you wouldn't know,
tucked in
next to somebody else,
warm under your cappuccino covers,
and next to me
is a space
you never filled.
the holes in my quilt
remind me how
you turned my veins into glaciers
so callously.
why do you deserve to know
my hands still roam for you?
you were the one
the only person with whom
i ever ached to
share
solitude
i don’t want you to be
the one that
got
a
w
a
y
i want you to know
i haven’t spent a minute
trying to unlearn your name
but you'll never understand
the years i spent
wanting to catch
s n o w
f l a k e s
with our tongues.
go on,
post those pictures
taken of you
waltzing in the
s e t t i n g
sun.
i'm promised
better days are coming,
but i hear
the w e a t h e r v a n e creak outside,
i feel the ravens circle the rooftop,
the

n
is coming.
the rain is coming.
About the Creator
Daniel K
I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.
