Some people don’t need more communication; they need to leave. Many of us are stuck in a misconception: "If I explain clearly, show a little more patience, and try a little harder, the other person will understand, and our relationship will improve."

But the reality is that some people are simply not on the "understanding" wavelength. The more you talk, the more exhausted you become; the more you back down, the more you lose yourself. It’s not that you’re bad at expressing yourself—it’s that the relationship was inherently unequal.

With maturity, you’ll realize one thing: not all problems need to be solved; some just need to end. If you’re being repeatedly drained by someone, try this:

Recognize the signs of "ineffective communication." The other person constantly distorts your meaning, shifts the focus, refuses to acknowledge the problem, or even makes you doubt yourself. In these situations, trying to reason with them only deepens your internal conflict.

Stop over-explaining. You don’t need everyone to understand you. The more you explain, the easier it is to be pulled into the other person's rhythm. A simple, clear response—or even no response at all—is more powerful.

Set "interaction boundaries." Reduce contact, shorten conversations, and avoid deep emotional exchanges. This isn’t about being indifferent; it’s about protecting your energy.

Practice "leaving, not proving." Many people want to prove they are right, but truly wise people choose to leave the wrong environment. You don't need to win an argument; you need a life that doesn't drain you.

When you start doing this, you’ll find that you haven't become cold-hearted—you’ve become clear-headed. Your time, emotions, and life should be reserved for those who truly cherish you. Distance isn't escapism; it is the deepest responsibility you can take for yourself.
