The Power of a Sling and a Stone

Small things...

A stone, a sling

An ant, a mosquito

An itch, a rash

A pimple, a boil

A smile, a wink

The tongue

The power of the little things

We easily underestimate

The crave for the big things

And the neglect of the seemingly small things

The inception of the world came about by just a word

A Collection of let there be’s

Great innovations come from small thoughts

Ever noticed why most great men are short?....lol

We always strive for the big things

That in itself is not a crime

Have we however taken time to consider the small things

Pay attention to the seemingly minute details

That call that could save a life

That smile that could brighten a day

The little helping hand that could lift to greater heights

David had a sling

Not a machine gun or an AK-47

He had five stones

Not bullets, grenades, bombs et al

He used just a sling and a stone

With a power greater than all

Already invented and yet to be invented machinery

What is in your hands now?

I’m not asking you to go to the brooks

Pick up five stones and buy a sling from the market

Then go on the streets scouting for a goliath to kill

All I’m asking you to do

Is look around you

Look within you

Look beyond you

And make good use of what you have now

To bring to light the future you greatly desire

And may virtue continually flow from the heart to the pen to the paper....
